The Absaroka-Beartooth Mountain Wall Map (Beartooth Mountains, Montana/Wyoming)
MyTopo is pleased to offer this special edition map, a collaboration of Billings' mapping expert Ralph Saunders and businessman Dave Ballard. For the last thirty years, Saunders has trekked through our beloved Absaroka-Beartooth Mountains mapping off-trail routes and paths, making detailed notes, and marking waypoints to update the old United States Geological Survey (USGS) data. The result, his Rocky Mountain Survey Maps, have been sold in every local backpacking supply store in our region, and have been relied on for decades by area hunters and hikers. They are widely recognized as the best maps in this region.Ballard has spent untold hours studying and relying on Saunders' maps through the years. The Absaroka-Beartooth Mountains Wall Map was commissioned to visualize past adventures, plan new adventures, and to be enjoyed for generations to come. Via partnership with MyTopo, Ballard and Saunders are making the map available to the public. The map is a collection of Rocky Mountain Survey maps and USGS maps artfully seamed together to cover the entire Absaroka-Beartooth range. It is a 1:62,500 scale 15 minute map, covering more than 5000 square miles. It stretches from ten miles east of Red Lodge west to Gardiner, MT. Paradise Valley and the Tom Miner Basin and all of the Montana portion of Yellowstone National Park are included, and it reaches into Wyoming to cover the Sunlight Basin area. The Greater Absaroka-Beartooth Mountains Area Map is printed on sturdy paper, suitable for framing or hanging on its own, using waterproof, UV-fade resistant inks. Discounted pricing is available for orders of 10 or more.
